Welcome to Largs Camera Club
We are a friendly, down to earth group of people with a passion for photography who are happy to help others learn and grow. We welcome beginners and experienced photographers alike, and have lots of fun and laughter.
We have fun group challenges and learn about technical aspects of our camera. We also have professionals present to us about their speciality. In the past year, this included experts in astro photography, landscape photography, light painting, getting the best from your phone camera and portraiture. On club nights, we have had group projects on zoom-burst, macro, street photography, black and white, architecture, leading lines and minimalist. So we actively learn the art of photography, and practice shooting images that we may never had imagined taking before.
In summer months, we continue to meet on club nights. On alternate Mondays, we go out for walks to various places to have fun with our photography. This has included local Country Parks, RSPB Lochwinnoch, shooting architecture in Glasgow, and to various local beaches. Several club members also enjoyed an outing at the Isle of May in Fife last year - a haven for puffins in the summer months.
Exhibition of Largs Camera Club Member’s Prints
Largs Camera Club hosts a large exhibition in the foyer and café area of the Vikingar in Largs, where we change our prints every 2 years. We also exhibit in the meeting room at Largs Library, with a yearly changeover. As a member, you could have your pictures featured there too.
Please note that we will be changing our prints at Vikingar very soon, so if you haven’t already, do check out the existing exhibition before we replace them.
Test us out before you join
The first 2 club meetings are free, after that we have an annual fee £65.00. This includes full membership, as well as payment for the hall where we meet. So, you can easily check us out first!
Where we meet, and Programme Details
We meet at Brisbane Evangelical Church Hall, School St, Largs.
Monthly on a Monday at 7pm, usually the 3rd Monday of the month, and additional walkabouts on alternate Mondays in the summer months.
